Her name is Dinah

Back when I was in my principles of 2D animation class we finally started the character animation portion of the class(YAY), but in order to do that we had to design our own character for it.

Very early on I wanted her name to be Dinah, because A.) It's fun to say B.) Black Canary's name is Dinah( for a long time I thought it was Dana) & C.) I found out the Din
ah is Hebrew for Judgment.
This was the first set of designs for me trying to figure out how I wanted her to look. The one on the far left looked way to much like Eva Green so that wasn't right. The middle one was to rocker chick with the bangs, but the one on the right was the closest to the design I was looking for.

Finally after looking through references like Showcase & Conceal, the beautiful Golshifteh Farahani & some Robert Valley love I found the look I wanted

So hopefully by now you guys are aware of the way I draw(Because I felt like a piranha when I showed the designs off in class). I'm the only one who didn't draw something that looked like it could've been in a Disney cartoon(Very awkward but I still stuck with her design).

The first thing we did was make them walk which was fucking difficult to do because I couldn't find any good references to model after because most people have more "ANIMATION FRIENDLY" designs, so the closet I got was a walk cycle from Tron Uprising. Not too bad right.

Then it was time to do the character acting & I wasn't happy how it came out

Wasn't my best work at all and definitely helped me enforce the fact that I don't want to be an animator, but rather an animation artist (you know doing anything else except making them move). After all of that I'm still proud of the fact I kept with my design and did something that wasn't like everyone else. Well that's about all I have to say about this so as always

4 Years BABY

I really have no idea how the hell I forgot my own anniversary for my blog (shit this is new). I blame Vixen for making me forget ( CW making me download a app to watch a 3 min episode). It's been a week since the anniversary and Highly Animated is still going strong. More stuff to be posted soon
       Hope You Enjoy Another Year!
